I just don’t understand what is wrong with some people. Why do atheists think that religion is so weird?
Well here you go. Yesterday in Kentucky, a pastor , and nine others, were arrested for illegally possessing dangerous, poisonous snakes for use in church services.
… including 42 copperheads, 11 timber rattlesnakes, three cottonmouth water moccasins, a western diamondback rattlesnake, two cobras and a puff adder.

Gregory Coots is the pastor at Full Gospel Tabernacle in Jesus Name. A woman died (and at a different service- her husband as well) at a snake handling service in 1995.
Apparently this snake handling business was born of this text:
Mark 16:17-18 “and these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will … will pick up snakes with their hands.”

By now you know about PZ Myers “Cracker Controversy” of course. The YouTube videos are starting to appear. This is the first one I watched. It’s a very clever video and the subject clearly appears to be making up his own recipe for the “Blasphemy Challenge”. I am quite sure it will be offensive to Catholics everywhere.
Now underneath – there is a video response. The woman in the picture looks very sweet and nervous and about ready to cry, and I’m thinking to myself – “Oh dear – I wonder what this is going to be like”.
Let me just say that I am oh so happy that I took the time to watch. She takes about a minute and a half to make her point so hang in there with her. She has a more important question that needs to be answered. It will be well worth the wait.
Edit to Post … YouTube isn’t allowing me to post the vieo for some reason. Go to my first link and click on the video response.
