If you are interested in the latest developments in the lawsuit brought by Yoko Ono against the makers of the dishonest movie Expelled … you might want to check out this article on Newsday.com .
The filmmakers acknowledge they did not ask Ono for permission to use 15 to 20 seconds of the song. But they argue they are protected by the “fair use” doctrine, which permits small parts of a copyrighted work to be used without an author’s permission under certain circumstances

A missing link settles debate over the origin of frogs and salamanders
The examination and detailed description of the fossil, Gerobatrachus hottoni (meaning Hotton’s elder frog), proves the previously disputed fact that some modern amphibians, frogs and salamanders evolved from one ancient amphibian group called temnospondyls.
Time to move the goal posts a little bit I guess!

I’ve heard about solar energy, bio-fuels, wind power,etc… but I’ve never heard about this before!
“Tim Finnigan, a professor of ocean engineering at the University of Sydney in Australia designed a radical oceanic energy collector inspired by the design of shark tails.”
Professor Finnigan modeled the unique energy collectors after shark fins. He figured that they work pretty good for the sharks, so why not us?!

I watch the news every once in a while. This morning a story caught my eye -I began watching a video of a flying fish!! It was flying paralell to a ferry boat that was travelling to Yakushima Island.
There are some 40 species of “flying fish” in the family known as Exocoetidae.
