I learned something cool today. Have a look:
Scientists are studying the bounce time to try and develop more effective water repellent surfaces. On the “flip-side”, understanding how to make water “stick” to surfaces longer could be helpful in cooling things more quickly.
Less “sizzle”.

Denee – Glen Beck it right on….I am not saying we don’t need to figure something out but, when we do something that has proven over and over again not to work in other places, that is just stupid. Everyone just wants it done under there political party and it sucks for everyone else who needs the healthcare right now….. I hope they figure out somthing but, what they have now and with no other options….NO

Check it out, you’re right there is plenty of material and resaearch on the other countries systems. Guess what we’ve been lied to! It works and they are ahead of us in health and education, because somewhere along the line we have subscribed to the everyman for himself mentality, we live in a communal society.

Stacy- The next time you hear a senator or lobbyist screaming about how much Canada hates it’s “Evil Socialized” healthcare system, go actually ask a Canadian. Ask them why they voted Tommy Douglas as the greatest Canadian of all time if it’s so loathed.
” Canadians strongly support the health system’s public rather than for-profit private basis, and a … Read More

Stacy – Jenny, How was he mocking her? I didn’t hear her screaming like a mad woman. Also, If you’ve heard all you need to hear – then explain the article I posted. I think your ears are just closed.
about an hour ago · Delete
Jennifer – He was mocking her and every other liberal that carried on about how everyone is dying because they don’t have health insurance.
Why don’t you explain the article to me? I don’t know how it is that every Canadian I’ve spoken with, and there are a lot, says they’re taxed out the nose and the healthcare there sucks. Besides, didn’t anyone tell you that wiki is NOT considered a reliable source for information.
Stacy – Are you trying to tell me that the Canadians DIDN’T think that Tommy Douglas wasn’t the greatest Canadian of all time??
I’ll find you a dozen articles if you like! – Wiki is just the easiest.

And I could find you a dozen articles that say Canadians think they’re taxed too much and their healthcare sucks. I just don’t need to since I know that the media is full of BS. ![]()

Stacy – And again… are you saying he wasn’t voted the Greatest Canadian?? Prove it.
34 minutes ago · Delete
Stacy – I just offered loads of proof that he was.

Jennifer – “I don’t know where these links came from Jenny.”
See, that’s why I can’t take them seriously. Even you haven’t checked out the source to find out if it’s biased or not. I don’t care if they thought that guy was great or not – what I do know is that every Canadian I know, think their healthcare cost too much and sucks. You can post all the articles you want, it won’t change that.
Stacy- I call bullshit Jenny. How do you know that they are “Liberal” websites – like you claimed if you didn’t even look at them.
You said that Wiki is not a good resource so I provided you with MANY more which you chose to ignore because you can’t handle the fact that the majority – excuse me – the GREAT majority of Canadians approve of their healthcare system.
23 minutes ago · Delete
Jennifer – Omg!!! I could find you a thousand links that “prove” god exsists, that 9/11 was a government conspiracy, that say evolution is BS! … does having a bunch of links make any of that true?
Oh, but I better go forward a bunch of emails or I’ll have years and years of bad luck …
I read it on the internet, so it MUST be true!!
Stacy – I don’t want any of that Jenny. Just something that says that Canadians didn’t vote Tommy Douglas the Greatest Canadian. That should be easy enough right?? Especially if it’s not true – Go for it.

A North Carolina church plans to burn what it considers satanic books on Halloween.

Jamie Leigh Jones was drugged and gang raped so violently that she needed re constructive surgery.
*side note – I’m so angry as I’m writing this that I can hardly see straight*.
She was then held in the shipping container for 24 hours without food or water and placed under armed guard.
She was given a cell phone by a sympathetic male co worker and she was able to call her father in Texas. He called a congressman who in turn called the US embassy in Baghdad who arranged for her rescue from the shipping container.
Are you mad yet? This is an American girl who had to be rescued from an American company over seas.
It gets worse.
Legal experts say Jones’ alleged assailants will likely never face a judge and jury, due to an enormous loophole that has effectively left contractors in Iraq beyond the reach of United States law.
KBR has moved for Jones’ claim to be heard in private arbitration, instead of a public courtroom. It says her employment contract requires it.
In arbitration, there is no public record nor transcript of the proceedings, meaning that Jones’ claims would not be heard before a judge and jury. Rather, a private arbitrator would decide Jones’ case.
I was unaware of this case until I saw this video of Senator Al Franken and then I had to investigate further. Please watch.
Franken introduced an amendment to the appropriations bill to prevent a complete disregard for the rights of rape victims – to cut funding from contractors who use this loophole in employee contracts.
Statement of Purpose: To prohibit the use of funds for any Federal contract with Halliburton Company, KBR, Inc., any of their subsidiaries or affiliates, or any other contracting party if such contractor or a subcontractor at any tier under such contract requires that employees or independent contractors sign mandatory arbitration clauses regarding certain claims.
30 GOP senators wanted to deny rape victims their day in court. These are the senators that voted against it …
Alexander (R-TN), Barrasso (R-WY), Bond (R-MO), Brownback (R-KS), Bunning (R-KY), Burr (R-NC), Chambliss (R-GA), Coburn (R-OK), Cochran (R-MS), Corker (R-TN), Cornyn (R-TX), Crapo (R-ID), DeMint (R-SC), Ensign (R-NV), Enzi (R-WY), Graham (R-SC), Gregg (R-NH), Inhofe (R-OK), Isakson (R-GA), Johanns (R-NE), Kyl (R-AZ), McCain (R-AZ), McConnell (R-KY), Risch (R-ID), Roberts (R-KS), Sessions (R-AL), Shelby (R-AL), Thune (R-SD), Vitter (R-LA) and Wicker (R-MS).
WTF????? Apparently they thought his amendment was political attack directed at Halliburton/KBR.
In the end, his amendment to the Defense Appropriations bill passed easily, 68 to 30. Democratic Sens. Robert Byrd of West Virginia and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania did not vote. The remaining Democrats voted in favor of Franken’s legislation. They were joined by 10 Republican senators, including all the female GOP senators.

Here’s why. He was confronted by a bunch of tea baggers at his booth at the State Fair and was able to have a reasonable, respectful discourse with them. He listened to their questions and responded rationally.
This is how to deal with a potentially “angry mob”.
It’s true, gosh darn it – people like him.:-)

The Friendly Atheist is being targeted by The Illinois FAMILY Institute for being an atheist teacher! Oh Noes!!
(there’s that word family again).
Go pay him a visit and read all about the crazy lady that has nothing better to do with her time than try and get a good teacher fired because of his (non) religious beliefs. *sigh*
Edit: There was an important comment over on The Friendly Atheist’s blog. Allow me to reproduce it here …
lol…they removed the contact link from their website. Guess they didn’t want to hear from us anymore.
Unfortunately they forgot to disable their contact form at http://www.illinoisfamily.org/contact/ so if you feel the need to ask them a question directly please feel free.
